Another Municipality Hit- This One May Cost $1M.

Public Safety continues to be affected by ransomware attacks. Riviera Beach, a city of 35,000 within Palm Beach County, is calling the incident an “intrusion”. The entire city is affected. Police Dispatch is down as noted in this post by our friends at SecuLore:

Historically, we have seen that malware is able to move through a municipality’s network due to individual departments not being segmented or protected by a firewall.

Riviera Beach has a PSAP located inside their local PD facility. 9-1-1 service is operational.
